Fifth Day: Brigshaw
Today, first lesson, we were describing different images on the board and interpreting them in our own way. We were thinking of questions we could ask at the Art Gallery and also studies the different exhibits so we had a bit of background information about them. Second lesson, we used this cool program to make detailed mind maps about things we could find out about the Art Gallery and the Theatre. We each did our own map but we discussed it as a group so we could gather even more information. Third and fourth were all about Narration. We watched different styles of narration on YouTube, we compared people like David Attenborough and Come Dine With Me's Dave Lamb. We discussed how the style of narration, including what type of language they used, was different and what target audience they each had. We then did a short scene in two groups and added narration to it, we did the same scene three times (our group got that part a little wrong :/) and did different narration for our target audience; Parents, Teachers an Pupils. We then evaluated our performances and discussed where we went wrong. We each received 2 double sided sheets of the different types of narration which included Story Telling, Commentator and Voiceover. I fifth, we tried making short trailers introducing everyone in our group, some got farther than others but we all got to get used to the editing program a little more so we'll be more prepared when we get to edit our movie. We discussed how it's useful to take more footage than you actually may need and not to use some of it than be short on footage and have to make do.
